July 29, 2024 RANDALLS ISLAND, NYC – Three women were shot early Monday morning after a shooting near at a city-run migrant shelter, leaving one person dead, cops said.
A 44-year-old woman was found shot multiple times and died at Harlem Hospital. A 32-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, were both shot and also taken to a Harlem hospital where the pair were last listed in stable condition, police said. It’s not immediately known what led up to the gunfire outbreak.
Shooting incident was reported just after 3:30 a.m., at Field 71 on Randall’s Island. According to police, one victims was found shot near the migrant shelter entrance and the other wounded person was located under the Triborough Bridge.
According to police radio, officers are searching for at least two male suspects, one who fled on a moped and an additional person of interest who fled in a vehicle with New Mexico license plates.
Crime scene unit and NYPD detectives are working to determine a motive for the critical shooting as the investigation on Randall’s island is ongoing.
