Orthodox Christians for Life headed up the organization and promotion of Orthodox participation in the event, reports the Orthodox Church in America.

On Thursday, January 19, the Orthdoox hierarchs attended the evening Mass at the Roman Catholic Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

The next morning, Met. Tikhon hosted the hierarchs and visitors at the St. Nicholas Cathedral in Washington. Following the Liturgy, Orthodox Christians for Life hosted a breakfast for all those attending the March.

The participants then made their way to the Mall for the beginning of the March. Following the initial prayer, His Beatitude Met. Tikhon served a moleben for all victims of abortion.
