Although all of the attention right now seems to be on Akuma’s impending arrival in Street Fighter 6, there’s another demon about to hit a different neighborhood a few blocks over.
That’s because his darkest side in Oni is in the works as a new mod character for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and this demon is looking dangerous too.
Talented modder Heefnoff recently unveiled Oni as their next Marvel project with the help of Voltaic, but now there’s more than a little teaser.
We can see a couple of combos of the Satsui no Hado-controlled fighter in action, which may make a few Street Fighter 4 players sweat.

Oni’s able to quickly perform his cross through chop and send Dante to the skies where it’s shown he can combo into his air Raging Demon… and then do another Hyper Combo after it.
Remember how Oni could combo into Air Raging Demon in USFIV? pic.twitter.com/88gW4u8Nwz

As things stand now, Heefnoff shows he can combo after Shun Gokusatsu on the ground too to the point where Oni can gain enough meter to perform another in the air to take Ryu down with a touch of death.
Although he’s not ready for public consumption yet, this Oni mod is looking pretty darn impressive already with a bunch of moves that should look familiar to the SF4 crowd while being able to use them in new ways.
We’ll see if he gets to keep all of this crazy stuff, however, when he gets a few more balance passes though our guess is probably most of it will stay.

UMvC3 is typically the talk of the town when it comes to the modding community, but there’s a lot of attention of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite now too.
Modder WistfulHopes (along with support from Maximilian Dood) is attempting to overhaul Infinite’s graphics with a completely new art style that’s showing a lot of progress after only like a week of work, which may garner some renewed interest in the fighting game quickly abandoned by its creators.
