Pep Guardiola continues his spell on José Mourinho while Kelechi Iheanacho outshine Marco Rashford during the Saturday Manchester Derby at Old Trafford.
More than 100 games played between the Manchester clubs in England, Manchester United has won the most, meanwhile Manchester City are picking the pace to outclass their rivals as they’ve won most of the last 10 Derby encounter.
Before the Kick-off for the Saturday clash, they were talks about both coaches who have been rivals before now, at Real Madrid and Barcelona. The headlines that was made also, was between youngsters, Iheanacho and Rashford. But one definitely out-marked the other as the Derby ended in favour of Manchester City.
The game started with in a brilliant style as City pushed forward through Kevin De Bruyne and Iheanacho who replace the suspended top scorer, Sergio Aguero.
Guardiola’s tactics paid off when City saw themselves 2-nil up in the early 36 minutes of play. Thanks to goals from De Bruyne and Iheanacho respectively.
But Claudio Bravo, starting after replacing Joe Hart with his move from Barcelona misjudged his timing as he gave Zlatan Ibrahimovic a golden opportunity to reduce the score line with his fourth Premier League goal of the season.
Further bizarre decision making from the 33-year-old looked United’s easiest route to a draw and he prompted more last-ditch defending in stoppage time before City were able to take the local bragging rights and look down on their neighbours from the top of the table.
Manchester City are now the only club in the Premier League with a 100% record as Chelsea managed a draw with Swansea in the Sunday kick-off.
