As mind blowing as it may have been for those of us who were nine years old when it dropped, Mortal Kombat 4 isn’t regarded as anywhere near the franchise’s highest point.
Perhaps the most memorable thing from the MK4 days is the distinct image of Quan Chi (this game would mark his very first playable appearance) with an intense glare and fiery background that would take up the entire side of the arcade cabinet. Someone on X recreated this same image, only this time the eyes move.
We stumbled across this via X as Goh_Billy shared a quick video of the freaky picture, which appears to just be a poster sitting on a table top. The person in the clip moves their finger around Quan Chi’s face and, much to our horror, the sorcerer’s eyes move to follow said finger.
Take a quick look at it here and see if it doesn’t get a chuckle (perhaps a bit of a nervous one) out of you:
It’s that infamous Quan Chi picture, except in this one his eyes will follow you around! pic.twitter.com/KZ5vexzYgU

This Scooby-Doo style effect is achieved, of course, via sorcery as opposed to magnets or some unseen lever manipulating layers in the image.
