There are some truly amazing alternate skins available in Mortal Kombat 1 right now that you’re definitely going to want to grab before they’re gone. On top of the epic Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 skins for characters like Ermac, Rain, and Sub-Zero that return the fighters back to their 1995 looks, there are also a handful of other 90’s costumes you’ll surely want to see.
A batch of costumes for Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Smoke, and Reptile have been added to the game that bring these classic ninjas back to their designs from the iconic 1995 Mortal Kombat film. Today we’re taking a closer look at Scorpion and Sub-Zero’s by way of these spectacular screenshots from the great TQT1995.
As things stand right now, you can hop into Mortal Kombat 1 and snag yourself the Scorpion 1995 skin free of charge — and you should definitely grab it while you can. Sub-Zero’s skin, on the other hand, is a premium rotating item in the in-game shop, and eventually it will be rotated out so if you have any interest here, you should make an effort to get in there and purchase this fresh look.
The Sub-Zero skin will run you 500 Dragon Krystals, as will Reptile’s.
On their own and in the game, these DLC costumes already look fantastic. However, when you put top notch skins like these in the hands of digital photographer TQT, their true potential really shines.
TQT has a knack for getting the perfect angles, lighting, and poses for the characters in Mortal Kombat 1, and does an amazing job of really showcasing the details these costumes hold.
When it comes to Sub-Zero, this 1995 costume looks it was almost pulled right out of the movie, though the colors pop even more with the MK1 version. In TQT’s screenshots, Scorpion’s 1995 digs are using a different face mask that can be equipped, but it goes very nicely with the rest of the getup.
These costumes are currently available in Mortal Kombat 1 and won’t be there forever. If you’re wanting to pick them up, be sure to do so ASAP.
