And for PC too it seems
Although it’s becoming more of the standard now, cross platform play was not included in Mortal Kombat 1 at launch, but it is coming.
NetherRealm Studios revealed during today’s Kombat Kast what they are looking at for Krossplay’s release window plus some more details about it and the incoming update.
We don’t have an exact date yet, but NRS is aiming to add the online feature to MK1 sometime in February 2024 — likely at / around the same time as Peacemaker’s release as the next DLC character after Quan Chi.
There were fears that PC wouldn’t be included in on the fun since they were left out in Mortal Kombat 11’s Krossplay, but luckily, they confirmed today that Mortal Kombat 1’s cross platform will be on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
So that just means Nintendo Switch users will unsurprisingly be left to their own devices, literally.
On top of that NRS said they’re putting out a new update tomorrow, December 14, featuring the highly requested Wi-Fi indicator and options to decline matches when paired up.
Plus there will be some balance adjustments as well with Kung Lao’s Kameo noted to be receiving a nerf while Darrius is getting a new move.
NetherRealm aren’t the first ones in recent times to go back and add cross platform play after launch with Guilty Gear Strive and The King of Fighters 15 doing much the same while Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 include the feature out the gate.
This update should be coming with Quan Chi’s early access release for Kombat Pack 1 owners before his à la carte launch on December 21.
