Mortal Kombat 1 surprise update now live, adds balance changes and here are the patch notes

Mortal Kombat 1 is seeing some activity today with Peacemaker, the game’s latest DLC character, now being available for anyone to purchase. Interestingly enough, that’s not quite all that the game has received today.

Apparently, a surprise update that introduces some new balance changes has also been released. Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm Studios have shared the full set of patch notes detailing what all the latest update entails.

There aren’t a ton of changes here, but there are definitely some character-specific tweaks that you should be aware of. Before that, though, one general fix has been made that sees the player’s movement delayed by 29 frames at the start of Round 2 and any later rounds to be in line with how much time it takes to be able to move at the start of Round 1.

Beyond that, all of the other changes are character balance alterations for some of the main roster characters and Kameo Fighters. As far as who was hit, we see Johnny Cage, Kenshi, Raiden, and surprisingly, Peacemaker from the main cast, as well as Kung Lao and Stryker Kameo Fighters.

From the looks of it, Peacemaker mainly received some move behavior fixes, but we do see that the cooldown on Eagley after Eagley assists during Shove has been increased, which is a nerf.
