It sure does feel like Ermac and Mavado just hit Mortal Kombat 1 not that long ago, but the game’s already about to get its next set of DLC very shortly.
NetherRealm Studios is about to drop The Boys’ Homelander as the next guest fighter for MK1, but first they need to do some server maintenance to prepare the game for his arrival.
According to a recent post from the official Mortal Kombat account, The developers will be pulling the game down starting early tomorrow morning, June 4.
Server maintenance is scheduled to begin at 6 a.m. PT / 9 a.m. ET, and though they don’t specify how long it’s intended to last, we can probably expect the game to be offline for around 2–4 hours in total.
During this time, all online functionality for MK1 will remain unavailable including online matchmaking, leaderboards, the in-game store, challenges and more.
Once complete, there should be a new update to download to coincide with the early access release of Homelander for Kombat Pack owners.
To ensure that we’re ready for Homelander’s early access arrival, #MK1 will be offline starting @ 6am PT/8am CT on June 4.

On top of that, NRS also confirmed a handful of other changes and additions being made to MK1 with the start of the new Invasions Season of the Reptile beginning too.
Expanded inventories, easier traversal, reward previews, and more quality of life updates are coming to Invasions to hopefully make the mode a bit more enjoyable.
Homelander himself will also be available to try out in Towers for all players during the early access period.
The developers held their Kombat Kast presentation earlier today where they revealed one of Homelander’s Brutalities as well as a stylish new outfit for Mileena as well.
