Although Street Fighter 6 players are the ones currently hyped up for an update this week, it seems like they might not be the only ones.
NetherRealm Studios announced today that server maintenance is also incoming for Mortal Kombat 1 quite soon.
According to their post on X/Twitter, MK1’s server maintenance period will begin tomorrow morning, May 21, at 4 a.m. PT / 7 a.m. ET though they don’t say for how long to expect it to be in effect.
During this time, all online modes and functionality shall remain unavailable to use / access including online matches, leaderboards, in-game shops, rewards and more.
NRS doesn’t mention what the maintenance is specifically for, but it’s certainly not going to be for Homelander’s release considering we still haven’t even seen his gameplay trailer yet.
On Tuesday, May 21 @ 6am CT/4am PT, #MK1 will go offline for server maintenance. Keep an eye out here for further details.

Without more details, our best guess is MK1 may be receiving a small update to address any issues introduced with Mavado’s launch earlier this month or something else, but we’ll have to wait for patch notes to find out for sure.
Series co-creator Ed Boon also recently shared a few more sneak peeks at Ferra’s return to the fighting game at the next Kameo fighter coming after Homelander.
Stay tuned for more updates on Mortal Kombat 1.
