Mortal Kombat 1 has seen a fairly large update within the last 24 hours that introduced quite a few changes to the game. While we still don’t have official patch notes for the latest update (at the time of writing this), fans were quick to find some of the additions made to the game post-patch.
Several characters saw gameplay changes, with one of the biggest tweaks being a big nerf made to Kameo Fighter Cyrax. However, content additions were made as well, and you can now play on a new variation of Johnny Cage’s Mansion that is spooky and Halloween-themed — and it is totally awesome.
With the latest update, a new variation for Johnny’s Mansion is made available. From what we can tell, there are no Dragon Krystals or any currency needed to play it, it is just automatically available as part of the game’s selectable stages after the patch is installed.
Johnny’s Mansion now has Day, Night, and the Halloween variation to choose from. If you’re one who enjoys the Halloween season and celebrating the holiday, then you’ll definitely want to choose the latter.
With this variation, Johnny’s pad gets a full spooky makeover. From banners that say “BOO!” strewn across the ceiling to pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns sitting in the background, this stage is littered with Halloween goodness.
The general Halloween decorations are certainly cool, but even cooler are the ones that incorporate Mortal Kombat themes into the mix.
Placed throughout the background are all kinds of references, but the most standout ones are the creepy Halloween dummies that are dressed up as what appears to be Sub-Zero and Scorpion and just stand there lifeless. Each stands with their arms up as if to try and scare trick-or-treaters, and the one that looks like Scorpion even has a jack-o-lantern candy bucket hanging from his arm.
Above all else, though, the best thing in this entire stage is the Havik animatronic. If you move over to the far right side of the stage, a dormant Havik animatronic that looks right out of Spirit Halloween will come to life and try and scare you as you walk past it.
Oh, and we would be remiss if we didn’t mention that Johnny’s Roomba even got into the Halloween spirit with this stage. If you hang around the far left side of the stage, you’ll see the robot vacuum come into frame with a small cowboy riding on top of it.

NetherRealm Studios has really been in the Halloween spirit this month as indicated by some of the previous content we’ve seen released. Just last week, a new Day of the Dead Scorpion Skin and the Kannibal Killer Mileena skin hit the in-game shop as premium items.
Like Sub-Zero before him, Scorpion’s new costume gives him a full on Dia de los Muertos getup complete with a candy skull mask. Mileena, on the other hand, does her best Hannibal Lecter impression with her latest skin.
You can still get your hands on both of these outfits for 800 Dragon Krystals each, if you really want to maximize your Halloween vibes in Mortal Kombat 1.
