More than 88,000 kids Covid positive in the US, says Report. 

According to a report by the Children’s Hospital Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), more than 88,000 children turned out Covid positive during the first week of June. 

Since the inception of the pandemic, more than 13.5 million kids have been infected and more than 395,000 new cases were added in the last few weeks alone. The number of infections among children was lower last year as per the report. 

This mandates the need for an immediate age-specific assessment of Covid cases to study the long-term effects of the virus. 

The Report said that should studies should be conducted to assess the immediate impact of the virus and to address and identify the long-lasting effect on the social, mental, and physical well-being of the kids.
