The battle for the top spot on the Street Fighter 6 online leaderboard is a brutal one. Players constantly shift their positions and when someone does hit #1, it usually isn’t often that they hold it for long as just a single loss can let other top ranked players get the upper hand.
Being the highest ranked player for Master Rate (MR) in Street Fighter 6 is an incredible feat to achieve, and fighting game veteran Momochi has not only done it, but managed to do it with the game’s newest DLC character, Ed. What makes this even more impressive is that Ed has only been officially available for a little over a month now.
At the time of writing this, Momochi sits at the very top of the MR leaderboard with a staggering 2,407 MR. Last phase, Kakeru closed out with the #1 rank at 2,401 MR, giving Momochi’s latest achievement the edge by just a mere 6 points (further illustrating just how cutthroat this competition for #1 is).
Earlier this morning, Momochi streamed his ranked matches over on YouTube and the archive contains the set that secured him the 2,407 MR.
Throughout his session on the road to 2,400 MR, Momochi ran into several different top level contenders. You’ll see none other than Daigo Umehara pop up a handful of times, as well as IBSG_Sasamo who is also playing Ed right now.
With the current standings, Momochi sits pretty comfortably at the top with his MR score. The #2 spot right now is being occupied by Daigo, who has 2,334 MR.
