The Commissioner for Local Government Affairs,Hon. Stella Odey has commended the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), Akamkpa Local Government Council for his developmental strides and pro-activeness in the discharge of his duties.
Hon Odey made the commendation during her maiden visit to Akamkpa Local Government Council on an assessment tour of his Council’s development, applauded the HOLGA for his ingenuity which she noted were responsible for the many developments in the area.
The Commissioner also encouraged other Heads of Departments to borrow a leaf from the Council Head and initiate programmes that will boost the revenue of the Council,and lauded staff of the Council for the serene working environment .
The MLGA Commissioner descrived the on-going construction of the Akamkpa Traditional Rulers Council Chambers as a legacy project which. Shall outlived the present administration.
Earlier in his remark, the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA)for Akamkpa Local Government, Mr Augustine Ngaji welcomed the Commissioner and affirmed that Akamkpa Local Government Area is blessed with both human and natural resources.
Mr. Ngaji lauded staff of the Council for their cooperation, which has translated to the successes recorded so far but decried the incessant Communal and inter’State crises which has hindered development in some communities in the area
The HOLGA lamented over some of the inaccessible roads in parts of the Council area and solicited for urgent intervention to enable merchants have access to food produced in the communities thereby improving the standard of living of the people.
