MIUI 13 features
MIUI 13 brings a host of new features, including Focused algorithms, Liquid Storage, Atomised Memory, Smart Balance, Sidebar, and more. There are also widgets, which could be inspired by the iOS operating system, though there are chances these could be region-specific. The custom skin is claimed to offer an enhanced user experience even after two years of usage. The company had even started pilot testing MIUI 13 on the Redmi Note 10, Redmi Note 10 Pro, and Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite, but it is yet to start testing in India.
The MIUI 13 ‘focussed algorithm’ dynamically allocates system resources based on usage. It prioritises the active app, which allows the CPU to focus on more important tasks at hand. Xiaomi says it offers faster speeds and better performance. Atomised Memory analyses the way apps use RAM and closes the not-so-important tasks, thereby ensuring enhanced performance.
The sidebar on MIUI 13 will allow users to access favourite apps in floating window mode with just a swipe. The company says users will not have to leave the current app. They can load up to 10 apps in the sidebar. MIUI 13 is claimed to extend the battery life by up to 10 percent. Lastly, as for widgets, MIUI 13 allows users to place widgets on the home screen in 2×1, 2×2, 2×3, 4×2, and 4×4 sizes. A range of system apps, including Weather, Security, Notes, Clock, and more can be used as widgets.
