HINESVILLE, Ga. (TCN) — Two firefighters who used to be in a relationship were found dead in Tennessee over the weekend after going missing.
According to WJCL-TV, on Saturday, June 22, Raegan Anderson and Chandler Kuhbander got into an argument at an Olive Garden in Pooler because she allegedly saw him on a date. Anderson reportedly keyed her ex-boyfriend’s car and was arrested for criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct.
Two days later, on the morning of June 24, Kuhbander reportedly told his mother that Anderson was “blowing up” his phone. He went to a Crunch Fitness at Oglethorpe Mall in Savannah but was not seen getting back into his car and leaving. WJCL reports surveillance video showed Anderson’s Ford Focus in the parking lot the same time Kuhbander left the gym.
WTOC-TV reports Anderson was placed on administrative leave from the Liberty County Fire Department on June 24 following her arrest. On June 25, Hinesville Police conducted a welfare check at Anderson’s residence following a request from the fire department’s deputy chief. Officers reportedly located a note inside her house indicating she might harm herself.
On June 26, the Hinesville Police Department issued a Be on the Lookout (BOLO) alert for Anderson and Kuhbander, saying they were most likely traveling in Anderson’s vehicle.
Anderson was reportedly seen in video footage pumping gas at a station in South Carolina. WTOC reports Kuhbander’s mother said his phone’s data pinned him to that same area.
On Sunday, June 30, the Hinesville Police Department announced Kuhbander and Anderson were found deceased in Cocke County, Tennessee.
Liberty County Fire Services Chief Brian Darby said in a statement the department was “deeply saddened” to learn about their deaths, adding, “These two extremely dedicated employees put their hearts and souls into protecting and serving the citizens of Liberty County.”
Anderson and Kuhbander’s cause and manner of death remain under investigation.
