Sequel to his presidential inauguration into the Office of Minister of Niger Delta Affairs on Wednesday 11 November 2015, the Cross River born NigerDeltan Mr. Usani Uguru Usani took to his social media account to express his mind on the daunting task ahead. What follows is the text of as it appears on social media.

'The task and responsibility of every NigerDeltan, in the nationhood of Nigeria, is that of brotherhood.
Henceforth, we must refuse to accept despair as the final response to the ambiguities of our history.

Rather, let's embrace our heritage which defines our identities and values. So, while I am energized to work in the companionship of Claudius Daramola and the entire
people of the NigerDelta, I am embolden that I will not be alone; I am so certain that I have the
companionship of good people, and I am trice as certain that I will have the companionship of the Divine.

Never forget that we are “tied in a single garment of destiny”.

With the above clausal expression, the Honourable Minister is poised to deliver on his task as the substantive Minister of Niger Delta Affairs.

Albeit, the Honourable Minister is perceived to be saying ultimately that, without the support of his immediate constituency, to wit, the 9 states that comprise the Niger Delta region and divinity as well, he is bound not to succeed in his present public role.
