West Ham United earned a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa on Sunday, with Emerson Palmieri’s late header cancelling out Jacob Ramsey’s opener.
The result marked a positive step under Graham Potter, who took charge earlier this season after Julen Lopetegui’s departure.
While Potter has just one win in his first four games, West Ham looked disciplined and energised at Villa Park.
Their collective effort drew praise, but one player’s standout performance stole the spotlight post-match.

Micah Richards and Gary Lineker both hailed the individual’s “brilliant performance” on the day.
Richards highlighted the player’s energy, work rate, and defensive contributions during the match.
“The recovery runs, tackles, and delivery at times were top-notch,” Richards said on The Rest is Football podcast.
The player in question? Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who has turned his form around at West Ham.
After joining for £15 million from Manchester United last summer, Wan-Bissaka initially struggled.
His performance at Villa Park was another step forward, earning comparisons to his early days at Crystal Palace.
Richards suggested Wan-Bissaka could have been useful for United this season under Ruben Amorim.

“Energy and pressing have been issues for them,” he noted, reflecting on United’s struggles.
Richards also praised West Ham’s tactical discipline, stating the Englishman would’ve been ‘perfect’ for Amorim’s back five system.
Amorim has been having to shift players around in various positions to help improve the balance of his side.
However, Wan-Bissaka may well have been one who’d have thrived at right wing-back, with his crossing ability.
The full-back deserved two assists against Aston Villa, his deliveries have been something United attackers have missed this season.
As West Ham prepare to face Chelsea next Monday, Wan-Bissaka continues to thrive under Potter.
Meanwhile, Manchester United turn their focus to FCSB for their final Europa League group-stage match.
