Comr Onun Endure the owner of the online news website, CrossRiverDaily, and the outspoken presidential aspirant in the last conducted general election of the students union government of the University of Calabar yesterday 7 July took to his social media account, namely, Facebook, to register his displeasure over the perceived inefficiency in the running of Cross River State by the present state administration.
Endure's backlash is coming at the hills of Governor Ben Ayade's return from his almost one month overseas tour to North American and Asian countries where it's reported that His Excellency the Executive Governor of Cross River State has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Canadian government in view of introducing the CBIE Model of Education in Cross River. Besides, at His Excellency's return, government house media aides have it that the governor signed another Homeland Security MoU with the French Consulate at his Calabar residence.
In his statements, Endure observed that Governor Ayade 'has signed upto 37 if not 40 Memoranda of Understanding yet he is unable to understand that Calabar – Ikom road needs repairs, insecurity ought to be arrested, Calabar is dirty, ITM needs funding'. He noted that Memorandum of Understanding don't confer the requisite understanding of running the state. In his words, 'Whoever is closer to him should help tell him that to get understanding is not by how many memoranda of understanding he signs, but by coming down street to see things live'.
He closed his criticism by introducing a hashtag where he is asks who he refers to as MoU Governor to get understanding: #MoUGovernor #GetUnderstanding
