Mega64 goes back to do an abridged retelling of Dragon Ball Z's Saiyan Saga using the most absurd special effects

Mega64 is a YouTube channel famous for the Live Action Dragon Ball Z in 5 Minutes series, though it should be noted that only the Frieza Saga video was actually five minutes long. Regardless, Mega64 has previously covered the Frieza Saga, the Cell Saga, and the Majin Buu Saga of the Dragon Ball series with their unique video style.

Rather than going the route of covering either Dragon Ball GT or Dragon Ball Super next, Mega64 has instead opted to cover the missing piece of the Dragon Ball Z storyline — the Saiyan Saga. This covers the Z Warriors’ battle against Raditz, the Saibamen, Nappa, and Vegeta in the earliest part of the Dragon Ball Z storyline.

The video starts with a battle featuring Goku and Piccolo teaming up against Raditz. Just like the source material, Raditz is defeated, but only with Goku also sacrificing his life. This doesn’t matter too much as the Dragon Balls can be used to wish the dead back to life.

When Nappa and Vegeta arrive onto the scene, Piccolo comes to the stunning revelation that he’s an alien. Additionally, Yamcha, Chiaotzu, Tien, and Piccolo are all killed off by Nappa before Goku is able to arrive at the scene.

In his frustration, Vegeta ends up breaking his scouter once he learns that Goku’s power level is “somewhere between 8,000 and 10,000.” There are a ton of ridiculous and hilarious scenes that play out due to Mega64’s “special effects” throughout the video.
