Mechanical Fitter – Cape Town
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE (BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
- To diagnose problems and repair diesel engines and ancillary equipment.
- To apply troubleshooting methods, replace parts and run tests, to ensure the systems is working properly, following repairs
QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
The following trade tested qualifications will be considered:
- Mechanical Fitter/ Diesel Fitter/ Diesel Mechanic.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience.
- Must be qualified with a valid trade test certificate
- Must have large diesel engine overhaul experience
- Ability and acumen to work independently
- Strong mechanical background
- A good knowledge and strong commitment to Health and Safety processes.
- Sound communication skills.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND REQUIREMENTS:
- A team player and ability to maintain a positive attitude within the team.
- A can-do attitude.
- Be proactive and flexible, willing to work long hours.
- Medically fit to work on board fishing vessels.
- Clear criminal record.
