Key Outputs
Assist a turner machinist / automotive machinist in minor repairs to salvageable iron at the machine shop to OEM standards and customer requirements while maintaining an orderly and safe workplace.
Primary duties are to operate the sandblasting machine, drill and tap, grinding and cylinder head pressure test machine.
Assist the artisans in performing moderate to complex maintenance and repair work on machines and / or components.

Know which tools are used for which jobs and ensure the mechanic / technician has them within reach
Physically lift, keep in place and / or move up to 20kg or use appropriate lifting and slinging equipment for objects larger in size
Clean and maintain facilities and equipment
Assist artisan to obtain and check parts for particular jobs
Maintain a safe and orderly workplace

Qualification, Experience and Competencies
Matric or Equivalent
Ability to obtain certification as forklift operator within 90 days of appointment
Ability to obtain certification as overhead / jib crane operator within 90 days of appointment
Ability to follow instructions under supervision
Rotate between departments on an adhoc basis
