A new trailer for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has dropped on Bandai Namco Entertainment America’s YouTube channel. A ton of new characters from the Android Saga have been announced as a result.
Trunks with a sword, Mecha Frieza, and King Cold are the first fighters revealed in the latest trailer. Of course, those of us familiar with the Dragon Ball Z storyline know that this is only a prelude of things to come for this portion of the story. Trunks travelled backwards through time to warn the Z Warriors about the androids.
Next up is Dr. Gero (also known as Android 20), Android 19, Android 17, Android 18, and Piccolo fused with Kami. Eventually, Cell, in his first form, appears on the scene.
Android 16 attempts to stop Cell, but Cell is able to absorb Android 17 then Android 18 to ascend to his second and third forms. However, it seems that Cell has a fourth playable incarnation with “Perfect Cell,” which he achieves after surviving his own self destruction attack.
Leading up to Perfect Cell’s reveal, we also see glimpses of Teen Gohan as a Super Saiyan, Cell Jr., and Teen Gohan as a Super Saiyan 2. The cinematic ends with the iconic tug of war scene between Perfect Cell and Gohan with their Kamehameha Waves.
In total, 16 new characters were effectively revealed with this trailer. As expected from a game from the Tenkaichi Budokai series, the roster is absolutely packed.
