Ken Masters was revealed Thursday morning alongside fellow Street Fighter Chun-Li as a future guest DLC character for the upcoming Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, and the fighting game community’s most prominent streamer could not be any happier.
Seriously, Maximilian Dood (who was admittedly amid the perfect storm of sudden emotional surge while on very little sleep) was on the verge of losing his dinner when SNK made the announcement, and his reaction is one of pure giddiness and childlike joy.
It’s no secret that Max is a huge fan of Ken Masters. The popular content creator has listed the iconic Street Fighter character as his fourth favorite fighting game figure of all time, specifically clarifying Ken’s Third Strike and Capcom vs. SNK 2 appearances as his favorites.
Max is also a massive fan of SNK’s Fatal Fury franchise, and so the fact that Ken and Terry (SNK’s poster boy and similar take on a fiery blonde fighter) will now be able to fight in a three different franchises (the other two being Capcom’s CvS2 and Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate) is more than big news, it’s a moment in history.
Having stayed up to watch the Japanese announcement live, we pick up with the sleep-deprived Max just moments before the reveal. Max sounds almost doubtful that expectations for a big reveal will come to fruition at this point, but “shuts his stupid mouth” as soon as the developers throw to a surprise teaser trailer.
Ken’s face is greeted with a series of screams that eventually evolve into non-discernible phrases with apparent swear words (don’t worry, they’re mostly bleeped out). He eventually comes to enough senses to watch the rest of the reveal, listen to what the developers have to say, and offer comments on certain details and historical background.
Check out the full reaction in the video below and let us know if you’re anywhere near as hype as Max is in the comments section.
