With Ermac now available in Mortal Kombat 1 for everyone, the next DLC to look forward to is Mavado, the fourth DLC Kameo. We were previously informed that Mavado would be released sometime in May 2024.
Earlier today, NetherRealm Studios narrowed down exactly when we’ll be able to start teaming up with Mavado in Mortal Kombat 1. Mavado has been scheduled to be released on May 7, next Tuesday.
Additionally, more information about Mavado’s role as a Kameo has been unveiled. He can ideally be used for set ups, defense, and combo extension.
During the latest gameplay trailer and Kombat Kast, it was shown that Mavado has plenty of attacks that can help with combo extension. Additionally, he can place a trap that leaves the opponent stunned for a good duration.
Mavado was also shown to have this weird attack in which he slams both the allied point character and the opponent together, resulting in an awkward knockdown of both fighters. We’ll have to see what practical application this attack will have after he’s released.
Overall, it looks like Mavado is slated to be one of the stronger ambushes in Mortal Kombat 1 since he appears to have a number of attacks that function as “ambush assists.”
