Towards the end of the transfer window, Manchester United were pushing to sign Mathys Tel as The Red Devils were desperate to sign a striker.
With Ruben Amorim having limited faith in Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, reportedly putting the Danish striker on trial for the rest of the season, the Portuguese manager demanded a striker be signed by deadline day.
Mathys Tel was a prime contender, with the 19-year-old being extremely talented and versatile for his age, being able to play as a striker or a left-winger, providing cover for the outbound Marcus Rashford.
Tel was adamant that he wanted to leave Bayern Munich by deadline day, going so far as bidding his fans farewell following his final game, without even knowing it was his final game.
Now, Tel is set to play in the Premier League, however against United instead of for them.
Tottenham Hotspur managed to land the signing, bringing the youngster to London, with the details of the deal now revealed.

Tottenham Hotspur spend big on Mathys Tel
Christian Falk has now revealed the details of Mathys Tel’s loan move to Tottenham, with Spurs forking out a considerable sum for the youngster.
The attacker is set to be with Spurs for the remainder of the season, with Tottenham covering his £81,000 per week salary in full, with the wages included in the £10 million loan fee the London-based club are paying Bayern.
The Premier League side also have the option to buy the youngster at the end of the season for £50 million, bringing the total they could potentially spend on the star to around £60 million.
United ultimately backed out of the deal, refusing to meet Bayern’s high valuation for a reasonably unproven star, with his ability in the Premier League about to be tested.
