READING, Mass. (TCN) — A 27-year-old man faces assault charges after he allegedly stabbed his parents with a box cutter in the middle of the night, then told police he had a “psycho attack.”
According to the Reading Police Department, on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at approximately 12:13 a.m., officers and paramedics were called to a home on Bond Street regarding a stabbing. When they arrived, they found a man and woman suffering from apparent serious stab wounds, and paramedics transported them to a hospital for treatment.
Investigators identified the victims’ son, Christian Alexander, as the suspect but said he fled the scene following the incident. Police located him about three hours later and took him into custody on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and armed assault with intent to murder a person over 60.
WHDH-TV reports the victims are Alexander’s mother and father. Assistant District Attorney Matthew Skerkowski reportedly said in court Wednesday that Alexander’s father was “bleeding profusely from the neck” due to his stab wound, while his mother was stabbed in the chest.
When police detained him, Alexander allegedly said, “I just had a psycho attack. I didn’t mean it.” Then, he asked, “Is everyone at the house OK?”
Alexander is being held without bail until his next court hearing.
