Capcom artist Bengus also to provide alternate covers for Marvel comics
Although it seemed nearly impossible a few years ago, Marvel vs. Capcom is back and about to give the fans one of the things they’ve been wanting for like a decade now.
The Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is about to release digitally next week, but those who wait and pre-order the physical version get a very fitting bonus item by way of a limited edition comic book.
Previously, we didn’t know much about said MvC comic aside from its existence, but there were apparently some new details to come out of PAS West.
During the Capcom Presents main stage panel, the cover art by Todd Nauck was revealed featuring a bunch of the iconic heroes from both sides including Ryu, Chun-Li, Wolverine, Psylocke, Mega Man, Captain Commando, Spider-Man, Morrigan, Iron Man, Captain America, Ruby Heart, and Cyclops.
They apparently didn’t really discuss the plot of the crossover comic, but it’ll come out to 32 pages in total.
This isn’t the first time special crossover books have been produced with Marvel vs. Capcom: Fate of Two Worlds and Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite: Infinite Horizons produced, so it’s fitting we get another for the classic revival too.
On top of that, longtime Capcom artist and illustrator Bengus is apparently going to be providing Capcom vs. Marvel variant covers for comics in December including Avengers #21, X-Men #8, Infinity Watch #1, Wolverine #4 and All-New Venom #1 according to Bleeding Cool.
These Marvel vs. Capcom comics will be included as a pre-order bonus for those who pick up the physical copies of the collection on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch while supplies last.
Xbox was finally confirmed to get the MvC collection and Capcom Fighting Collection 2 sometime next year, but there’s no real word on a hard copy or comic promotion for that version as of yet.
The Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection is set to release digitally on September 12 for PS4, Switch and PC with the physical copies dropping on November 22.
You can check out the recently revealed comic cover below as well as the previous ones used to promote MvC3 and Marvel Infinite.
