The recruitment strategy around Manchester United in recent years has left fans questioning the club’s ability to manage talent effectively.
Several former United players are thriving elsewhere, raising concerns over the club’s decision-making in the transfer market.
United’s squad overhaul has seen talented prospects depart, often for modest fees, only to excel at their new clubs.
The focus remains on bringing in marquee signings, but many academy graduates and fringe players have slipped through the cracks.
This trend highlights the challenge of balancing immediate success with long-term squad development.

Fulham’s Andreas Pereira is a prime example, having rebuilt his career after leaving United in 2022.
The Brazilian midfielder is now at the center of renewed interest from Marseille, who previously had a £20 million bid rejected.
According to The Times, Marseille are preparing another approach, with Pereira’s contract winding down to just 18 months.
Brazilian side Palmeiras have also tracked him, though their financial limitations may complicate any deal.
Pereira, who turned 29 on New Year’s Day, is still a player the hierarchy at Fulham regard highly.
His future became uncertain after comments made in Brazil hinted at his admiration for Roberto De Zerbi, Marseille’s head coach.
Despite clarifying that his remarks were misinterpreted, Pereira was left out of Fulham’s clash with Tottenham for “technical” reasons.
Since returning, he has contributed with key performances, including a goal against Liverpool and an assist versus Bournemouth.
Fulham signed Pereira for £10 million from United, who retain a 20 percent sell-on clause in his contract.
With Marseille pushing for Ligue 1 dominance, Pereira could find himself at the heart of a January transfer battle.
Pereira initially joined United in 18/19 under Jose Mourinho, but struggled to cement his position in the first-team.
The Brazilian managed just three goals and five assists in 62 appearances for the Red Devils.
