We thought we recognized that voice in Wednesday’s surprise Joker reveal trailer for MultiVersus, but with as many times as we’ve heard imitations of Mark Hamill’s take on the iconic Batman villain, it can be hard to know for sure.
We’ve now got confirmation that Hamill is indeed returning to voice the character he’s second most known for, meaning we’ll hear him juxtaposed with the late Kevin Conroy as Joker and Batman trade blows in yet another venture.
The following is from a press release from WB Games:
“New MultiVersus Cinematic Trailer Reveals DC Super-Villain The Joker Feat. the voice of actor Mark Hamill as [the] upcoming playable character. Warner Bros. Games today released a new MultiVersus cinematic trailer revealing The Joker as the latest playable character to join the upcoming free-to-play platform fighter.”
“Voiced by actor Mark Hamill, who previously played the iconic DC Super-Villain in the Batman: Arkham videogame series and Batman: The Animated Series, The Joker will be available when MultiVersus launches on May 28, 2024.”
It was over a year and a half ago in November of 2022 that iconic Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy passed away, but fans have been treated to hearing Conroy and Hamill continue their legendary vocal stand offs as previously recorded media continues to surface.
Even this upcoming performance will not be their last as Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part Three, an animated film slated to come out later this year, will also feature the iconic duo.
