Behind Street Fighter 6’s impressive animations is a talented team of developers, but also motion capture actors who had to pull off many of the moves in real life.
Pro Japanese players BC|Tachikawa and CAG|Eita recently joined the Crank in! channel to interview pro MMA fighter and Marisa’s motion capture actor Kana Watanabe — as well as have her demonstrate some of the character’s powerful strikes against them.
After the interview portion, the longtime fighting game players put on the training pads to take some hits from Watanabe, but they clearly were not fully prepared for how hard she can go.
They start out by blocking some of her big straight punches that leaves Eita apparently complaining that she hurt his arm / shoulder a little bit.
The real fun though is taking Marisa’s Quadriga step kick against Tachikawa, and despite seeming a bit scared, he gets back up to take a second kick that sends him comically flying back against the mat against the wall.
Following that up, Watanabe shows off what Marisa’s flying Phalanx punch looks like in real life as well as the shock she leaves on the guys when she starts mixing up her blows.

Tachikawa also ends up shouting out in fear as she hits him with the shoulder charge from Marisa’s level 3 Super Art, but it’s Eita who takes the blow without pads on.
Although the video doesn’t have English subtitles, you don’t have to understand exactly what they’re saying to be entertained by Watanabe’s demonstration on Tachikawa and Eita, which starts around the 7:30 mark.
