Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford’s prolonged absence from the team has sparked fresh speculation about his future, with manager Ruben Amorim confirming it is Rashford’s choice not to feature.
Rashford was notably absent once again as Manchester United suffered a 3-1 home defeat to Brighton on Sunday.
The result continued United’s poor form, leaving the team in 13th place, closer to relegation than a Champions League spot.

Yankuba Minteh, Kaoru Mitoma, and Georginio Rutter sealed Brighton’s victory, handing the Red Devils their sixth home league defeat of the season, a record not seen since 1893/94.
Since Amorim succeeded Erik ten Hag in November, United have lost seven of their 15 matches under his guidance.
Rashford’s absence has coincided with the club’s struggles, raising questions about his role in the squad and his relationship with the manager.
The England international has featured in just one of United’s last nine matchday squads and did not step onto the pitch even in that game, a 2-0 loss to Newcastle.
After the Brighton defeat, Amorim addressed Rashford’s situation in his post-match press conference.

When asked about the player’s absence, Amorim stated, “It is his choice.”
“I don’t want to focus on this bad moment because, in these games we lost, Rashford is not here.”
The manager clarified that he did not blame Rashford for United’s form, adding, “No matter what, I am not going to put a player I don’t believe is the best for the team.”
This development comes amid ongoing transfer speculation surrounding Rashford, with clubs such as AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund, Barcelona, and Tottenham reportedly monitoring his situation.
Amorim maintained that Rashford’s availability rests solely on the player, emphasizing mutual respect for the forward’s decision-making.
The uncertainty around Rashford’s future adds another layer of intrigue to Manchester United’s tumultuous season.
