Marcus Rashford has confirmed he will be leaving Manchester United in the near future.
Speaking candidly about his future to Henry Winter, Rashford said: “For me, personally, I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps.”
Despite his long history at the club, Rashford made it clear that there are no hard feelings:
“When I leave it’s going to be ‘no hard feelings’. You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United.”
Rashford also shared his disappointment after being dropped for the recent derby against Manchester City, but remained focused on his next opportunity:
“It’s disheartening to be left out of a Derby. It’s disappointing but I’m also someone as I’ve got older I can deal with setbacks. What am I going to do about it? Sit there and cry about it? Or do my best the next time I’m available?”
Rashford reflected on his career, hinting at a potential move: “I’m halfway through my career… The best is yet to come? 100%. That’s my mentality.”
While his time at United may be ending, Rashford remains determined to continue pursuing his goals: “I haven’t achieved it yet.”
The Englishman’s expected departure will undoubtedly stir speculation in the fanbase.
Ruben Amorim will expect to face many questions surrounding his departure.
