With the summer nearly upon us, the long awaited transfer window is just around the corner and news of transfer targets are getting everyone excited for what the squads may look like stepping onto the pitch for the new season.
Having finished 8th in the Premier League this season, the team’s worst performance so far, it’s expected that Erik ten Hag’s side will be looking at a considerable number of replacements to add strength and depth to the team to fight harder next year.
Several names are currently being linked to United with players like Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite, Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo and now the scouting of Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi being reported by Daily Mail Confidential, but with this comes multi-million pound price tags such exciting prospects. This next transfer window could be vital for the success of the club, and so any transfer budget set needs to be used extremely well.
Well it’s now been reported by Daily Mail Confidential that United has little over £35 million in cash to work with this summer, however INEOS are hoping to raise a considerable amount more from offloading some top players and offer player swap deals.
This could result in deals being structured using bonuses as incentives rather than one-off payments, much like with the Red Devil’s signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace in 2019 which featured an initial sum of £45 million with an add on of £5 million in bonuses.
