With the summer transfer window only a few months away and the Premier League into its final handful of matches, clubs are looking at who to target to reinforce the squads over the summer.

Manchester United are no different, looking at potential replacements for players like Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelof who’s contracts are ending.

Also on the departure list are Antony, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho who the club are looking to sell after successful loan spells for the first two, with Chelsea having an obligatory by clause for Sancho.

However, their primary area of recruitment is to find a reliable striker.

Unfortunately for Ruben Amorim and United fans, Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee are both lacking the composure and consistency in front of goal that a club like United needs.

As such, The Red Devils are turning to a proven Premier League goalscorer as their top target this summer.

The Daily Mail has reported that United are putting Liam Delap of Ipswich Town at the top of their shortlist this summer.

The striker arrived from Manchester City last season for £20 million and with a buy-back clause in build as well as a 20% sell on clause.

The buy-back for City matches his release clause of £40 million, which United are reportedly happy to trigger to force the sale.

However, they aren’t alone in their interest with Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle also looking to the 22-year-old.

Delap has scored 12 goals in 30 games for Ipswich, proving he has what it takes to compete in the Premier League, and with Ipswich set for relegation, he could well be open to a summer move.
