This summer saw Manchester United sign a whole host of young talent to their academy to develop the next class of Red Devils.
The incoming talent included top prospects like Samuel Lusale, Chido Obi-Martin, Sekou Kone and James Overy.
However, one of the youngsters is already being rewarded with his first professional contract.
Ole Hoffskov, a Norwegian journalist, has reported that Chido Obi-Martin is set to sign his first contract on Friday 29th November.
Since joining in the summer from the Arsenal academy, Obi-Martin has been living up to the hype that surrounded his arrival.
Four games into the Under-18s Premier League and the young striker has already scored four goals with one assist. Impressively this included a hat-trick in his first start for the club, helping the side beat Nottingham Forest 6-0.
If this wasn’t enough, Obi-Martin only played one half.
Despite the four appearances, he’s yet to play a full 90 minutes, with a total of 172 minutes across four games, averaging at 43 minutes per game and a goal contribution every 34 minutes.
As a result, Manchester United are looking to reward their exciting young star, already looking to promote the 16-year-old to the big leagues of the senior squad.
Obi-Martin is following on from his impressive run of form with Arsenal, grabbing 32 goal and three assists in 21 games, securing his move to Old Trafford.
