In recent weeks there has been a lot of speculation around United scouting the top French league, Ligue 1, for talent to bring to Old Trafford this summer.

The main target that has come up from this is Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo, the 24-year-old centre back. Todibo has been named in United’s top three targets to rejuvenate their defensive line up this summer, with the Frenchman already having had a trial at United when he was 17.

Todibo has already spoken out to confirm that talks have begun with United, although no formal offer is known to have been made yet.

However, it’s another Nice player that is now gathering attention from Old Trafford.

23-year-old Khephren Thuram is the man of the hour, with much expectation he is looking to leave Nice this year with only a year left on his contract.

The central midfield is being reported by L’Equipe to be gathering interested from a number of top tier clubs, such as Liverpool, AC Milan and Juventus, alongside United, despite not managing to secure a place in the French squad for the upcoming 2024 European Championships.

The 23-year-old moved to Nice in 2019 from Monaco on a free transfer and since been a key player for the squad, making 167 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring nine goals and grabbing twelve assists.

Thuram has been vital to this season’s fifth place finish for Nice, and has even in the past been used on the left wing, showing the versatility the player has at his disposal.

It’s expected that Nice are looking to be open to offers for the midfielder in the range of €20 million to €30 million.
