With the club looking to cut unnecessary spending, integrating top academy prospects could provide long-term benefits on and off the pitch.
United are beginning to place a strong emphasis on pushing through players that are a tactical fit.

Godwill Kukonki set to receive long-term deal
As per Steven Railston’s report for MEN, United are now looking to secure Kukonki’s future with his first professional contract.
Kukonki was first mentioned in The MEN back in October as a player with the technical and physical attributes to thrive at senior level.
He was called up to first-team training in November and made the matchday squad for the first time against Arsenal on December 4.
Since then, Kukonki has continued to develop in academy fixtures, strengthening his case for a long-term future at Old Trafford.
He was even called up to the national team earlier this year, as reported on CentreDevils.
Fans are eager to see more young players break through.

Homegrown stars offer a quicker and more sustainable way to rebuild the squad.
As opposed to the club needing to spend big on ready-made players who have still proved to struggle.
However, United must look to strike the right balance.
INEOS will be aware of the imbalance across the first team in experience and quality.
Top talents will of course, need to be developed around the right guidance.
An area that will be huge if United are to reach the top level under INEOS.
