A key Manchester United target has come under fire from his own manager, with rumours of an exit from the club growing.
It’s well known that United are working on a deal for Patrick Dorgu to join the club from Lecce, solving their left-back problems.
However, their other priority position to fix this January is with the signing of a striker.
The Red Devils are looking much closer to home however with United eyeing up a fellow Premier League side for a winter raid.
Ruben Amorim currently only has Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund to lead his attack, neither of which are prolific goalscorers.
Looking to the transfer market, as an option up top, and as a replacement for Marcus Rashford, United have been monitoring the situation surrounding Wolves’ Matheus Cunha for some time.

Speculation rises around Manchester United target Matheus Cunha
The Brazilian striker has got himself 10 goals and four assists in 22 games this season, including a brace against Fulham.
However, following Wolves’ 3-1 defeat to Chelsea, manager Vitor Pereira didn’t hold back his thoughts on his star.
Speaking about Cunha’s behaviour, Pereira commented: “I had this conversation in the dressing room. He can be frustrated because he wants to win, but everybody in the team wants to win.”
He continued: “I don’t like this body language. I want someone as a captain trying to help the team – running, suffering, fighting together. This is something I can understand. Next time, I will not understand.”
At fulltime, Cunha made a move directly for the tunnel, storming off the pitch. Speaking about these actions, Pereira commented: “This is something that cannot happen again.”
However, Pereira was then asked if he believes Cunha has been affected by the recent transfer rumours, to which he responded: “It’s human that the players start to be a little bit… it’s normal in football.”
Now, Fabrizio Romano has added to the speculation of an upcoming move, commenting that no new deal has been agreed between Wolves and Cunha, with his contract set to expire in 2027.
United are facing competition from Arsenal in their pursuit of Cunha, so will need to move quickly if they want to beat The Gunners to signing the talented attacker.
