Ruben Amorim has named a talented Premier League striker as his next target for Manchester United.
With only a handful of Premier League games left to play, every team will be finalising their plans for the summer transfer window.
After a historically poor 8th place finish last season and qualification for the Champions League now resting on the Red Devils’ performance in the Europa league, Amorim’s plans for the summer become all the more crucial for the club’s future.
It’s widely known by now that the way the Portuguese manager plans to secure his club’s future is by investing in youthful upcoming stars from mostly smaller clubs.
The most recent additions to Amorim’s Premier League shopping list is Wolverhampton Wanderers left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri, the skilfully creative young French-Algerian.
However, today one more name has been added to that list: Liam Delap.
According to Givemesport, “Ipswich Town youngster Delap has emerged as one of their targets for the striker position following an impressive campaign under Kieran McKenna.”
Ipswich Town have suffered a string of poor results this season, their most recent being their 4-2 loss to Nottingham Forest at home.
Aged only 22, Delap has already accrued an impressive number of accolades in the 5 years of his senior career.
The young striker from Winchester has already won a Premier League trophy and 3 Champions League trophies with Manchester City, as well as 10 goals and 2 assists for Ipswich Town this season.
As an evidently talented striker, the possibility of Delap moving to Old Trafford would perhaps put Rasmus Holjund’s under pressure, especially as the young Dane is arguably still growing into the role.
However, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are also rumoured to be eyeing Delap up for a return to the Etihad, mounting the pressure on Amorim to make a decision on the gifted youngster.
