Manchester United are looking to bring in some top talent as soon as possible to help fight their way back up the league tables.
Now in 14th place in the Premier League after three league defeats, and being knocked out of the Carabao Cup, it’s fair to say there are concerns about the quality of the current United squad.
Whilst this criticism may not be entirely fair, with the current squad being assembled for Erik ten Hag’s 4-2-3-1 system rather than Ruben Amorim‘s 3-4-3, the lads are struggling to get to terms with the new playstyle.
As such, Amorim wants some fresh blood, able to slot into his system rather than abandoning his process altogether.
However, United have no budget to buy any new players in January, needing to make sales before they can sign anyone new.
Unfortunately, this means that January could be quiet for The Red Devils on the transfer front.
Instead, the recruitment team are looking ahead to the summer, scouting free agents who are eligible to sign pre-contract agreements next month, or working on the basis of sales being more likely in the summer.
Now, Sam C has reported that United, and several other Premier League clubs, have set their sights on Sunderland’s Jobe Bellingham.

Manchester United monitor Jobe Bellingham
Manchester United are currently tracking Jobe Bellingham’s progress at Sunderland, with the 19-year-old living up to his surname.
The younger brother of England and Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has been lighting up the Championship, with four goals and three assists in 21 games, helping Sunderland fight for promotion to the Premier League.
Currently, in fourth place, Sunderland have been utilising Bellingham’s versatility, using him in both defensive and attacking midfield as required.
However, the report explains that Bellingham is reportedly open to leaving Sunderland at the end of the season.
Whilst details are currently limited, it’s explained that clubs who have enquired about the star’s availability have been told a fee, showing that Sunderland are bracing themselves to lose their star in the summer.
The 19-year-old’s contract with Sunderland isn’t set to expire until 2028 however, putting Sunderland in a strong position to negotiate a high fee for their youngster.
