Manchester United’s pursuit of Patrick Dorgu has intensified, with The Red Devils desperate to sign a left-back.

The Red Devils have been heavily reliant on Diogo Dalot since last season to cover the left-back role due to significant injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.

With the situation with Shaw still ongoing and Malacia looking likely to find himself a loan spell away from the club, a new signing is a priority.

This has led the club’s recruitment team to monitor the likes of Alphonso Davies, Milos Kerkez, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Patrick Dorgu.

However, it’s the latter that United are now engaging with.

Whilst United have recently begun talks with Lecce, it appears they’ve gone well, with United now presenting an initial formal offer.

Manchester United’s initial bid for Patrick Dorgu

Gazzetta dello Sport has reported that United have submitted an initial offer of £25 million to the Italian club.

Unfortunately for United, this offer doesn’t appear to be enough to get the deal across the line.

Lecce are looking for a bid of £30 million plus bonuses to part ways with their versatile 20-year-old.

However, the Italian outlet believe that a deal could be agreed in the coming hours, given the limited difference in the valuations.

United are also meeting with Dorgu’s representatives in the coming hours  to discuss personal terms as they try to lure the talented youngster to Old Trafford.

With Dorgu being such a vital part of Lecce’s starting line-up, the Serie A side want a deal done as soon as possible, to give them more time to find a replacement.
