Manchester United are fining one of their defensive stars at the centre of interest from several Premier League clubs.
Ruben Amorim is finding his feet at United, working out his ideal defensive line-up, moving from a traditional back four to a trio of centre-backs.
As such, players like Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez are fitting in perfectly, whilst Noussair Mazraoui is excelling at converting into a new central role.
However a host of Premier League sides are now looking at one of United’s centre-backs.
Premier League sides monitor Harry Maguire
Harry Maguire is now in the final year of his contract with United yet to decide on their option of extending by 12 months.
As such, United risk losing the star for free despite signing him for £80 million from Leicester.
Maguire is eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement in January, lining up his next club ahead of the summer.
Football Insider have reported that Mick Brown, United’s former chief scout, has made them aware that multiple clubs are monitoring the situation at Old Trafford and could make a move if Maguire becomes available.
The main club in question is West Ham United, with the club being impressed by his strength and leadership ability.
Brown commented: “There are Premier League clubs keeping a close eye on the situation,”
He continued: “Any club who wants a solid and experienced leader and centre-back will be interested in Harry Maguire.
“He’s a huge threat from set-pieces, both defending and attacking them, and he’s good on the ball.
“He was England’s first-choice centre-back for years so he’s got so much experience.
“I was constantly on about him when I was at West Ham, but they made an offer of £20million for him and it was quickly rejected.
“They’re still looking at singing a new centre-back now, so I’d expect that interest is still there.”
