Manchester United’s season continues to spiral, with the club sitting 14th in the Premier League and showing no signs of turning things around.
Ruben Amorim’s side has leaked goals at an alarming rate, while struggling to score at the other end.
Set-piece organisation has been poor, and leadership across the pitch appears almost non-existent.
United’s lack of resilience has been exposed repeatedly, with five defeats in their last six matches.
Dressing room leaders are scarce, and Amorim has been vocal about the need for stronger characters to help lift the squad.

In response to these issues, United have decided to trigger the one-year option in Harry Maguire’s contract.
The England international’s deal was set to expire at the end of the season, leaving United at risk of losing him to a foreign club.
However, Amorim sees Maguire as crucial to stabilising the team and reshaping the squad’s mentality.
“I spoke with him this morning,” Amorim revealed ahead of United’s trip to face Liverpool to Sky Sports.
“I told him he has to improve his game.
“We need him a lot, and he also has to improve as a leader.”
Despite being pushed down the pecking order under Erik ten Hag, Maguire has earned Amorim’s trust by showing resilience during difficult periods.
“I think he coped very well with his struggles,” Amorim added.
“When you look at our team, we are starving for leaders on the pitch.
“He is a leader, and we are happy to continue with him.”
Maguire, who joined United for £80 million from Leicester City in 2019, has made 222 appearances for the club.
This season, he has featured 16 times and even captained the side during their 4-0 win over Everton in December.
While finances remain tight following heavy summer spending, Amorim suggested United could still explore new additions this month.
“I will keep that to myself,” he said.
“We will try to do something.”
