But not all of the supposed outbound players left in the end.

But now it is being reported that a star midfielder could still leave the club.
Casemiro could still leave Manchester United
According to a latest report, Manchester United’s midfielder, Casemiro, might still leave the club this summer despite the European transfer window closing.
Journalist Miguel Delaney revealed in his ‘Reading the Game’ newsletter that United has been discussing the Brazilian’s potential sale. Saudi Pro League clubs remain interested in signing him.

With the Saudi transfer window still open for another week, there’s a possibility Casemiro could follow Scott McTominay and Jadon Sancho as significant departures from Manchester United during this transfer period.
Casemiro, 32, is currently the highest-paid player at Manchester United, earning £350,000 per week.

Although he played in both of Manchester United’s opening two Premier League matches of the 2024-25 season against Fulham and Brighton & Hove Albion, the club sees the appeal in reducing their wage bill.
If Casemiro leaves, United could save approximately £18 million this season by removing his salary from their payroll.
Financial relief from player sales
Manchester United is also considering the potential financial benefits of allowing Jadon Sancho to leave for Chelsea.
The club has been constrained by previous contracts and the Profit and Sustainability Rules, which have influenced their transfer activities this summer.

As a result, they decided to sell Scott McTominay to Napoli, even after releasing high earners like Anthony Martial and Raphael Varane.
Casemiro future at Manchester United
Although Casemiro’s exit seems unlikely, the arrival of Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte from PSG could make Manchester United more open to the idea of selling him.
Casemiro, who joined from Real Madrid, had a mixed 2023-24 season following a solid debut campaign in 2022-23.
However, he has shown significant improvement and a return to top form during pre-season, which may lead manager Erik ten Hag to reconsider letting him go.
As the Saudi transfer window remains open, Manchester United must weigh their options regarding Casemiro’s future at the club.
