Manchester United will be in the market for a striker especially considering they will be with only one recognized centre forward in young Rasmus Hojlund after Martial leaves at the end of his contract in June.

The Red Devils have been linked with a move for several top strikers which includes RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko as goal reported.

This pursuit seems to have taken a massive hit financially as Sky Journalist Philipp Hinze revealed that he has a performance clause in his contract which has ultimately raises his release clause by €15 million.

As Phillipe posted on his X account, Sekso’s release clause was subject to appreciation dependent on his performance ergo it could rise to as much as €75 million which spells bad news for all his admirers especially United who are perilously close to violating FFP rules and cannot afford to splash money like that.

“Benjamin Sesko’s clause is dependent on success! In the winter, the sum was €50 million ,” Hinz wrote on X.

“Thanks to a strong second half of the season, the clause value is now around €65 million .The parameters for the price increase are playing time, goals and assists. possible increase is theoretically still achievable. Then the sum would be €70-75 million  . The decision will be made at the end of the season.” he concluded.

This significantly raises the Slovenian’s asking price which may deter Man United from seriously engaging in pursuit.
