Manchester United are not giving up hope of signing their top left-wing-back target, Patrick Dorgu this January.
The two clubs have recently met in a summit in Italy to discuss the deal that would see Dorgu move to Old Trafford.
The Danish defender has become a priority signing for Ruben Amorim, as the Portuguese manager is desperate for an attacking left-wing-back to fit his system.
Despite being a left back, Lecce have been using Dorgu on the right wing where he’s helped the squad with three goals and an assist this season.
His versatility across either wing makes him a strong asset to the squad, so naturally, Lecce aren’t giving up their man easily.
The Italian club are looking for €30 million plus €5 million in add-ons, seeing Dorgu as vital to their team. With the defender contracted to the club until 2029, Lecce have a strong position of power for negotiations.
However, Fabrizio Romano has reported that United aren’t backing down.

Manchester United increase their bid for Patrick Dorgu
Romano has now confirmed that United are upping their initial offer of €23 million, to match Lecce’s valuation of €30 million, with their submission due any moment.
The Red Devils have already agreed personal terms with Dorgu, so all that remains are for the two clubs to finalise the transfer fee.
As United are now meeting Lecce’s demands, it’s hard to see that the deal won’t get across the line, with Lecce previously wanting to sort out a move quickly to find a replacement for their star.
Manchester United’s new bid for Patrick Dorgu now imminent, it will be over €30m after initial one rejected.
