Manchester United’s recruitment team are now looking ahead to next summer’s transfer window, with a new midfield target in mind.
This summer saw The Red Devils go on an all out attack to prioritise the signing of Manuel Ugarte from PSG.
After months of negotiating, United finally got their man, with Ugarte finally moving to Manchester in the final week of the transfer window.
Now, The Red Devils look set to break the bank on their next midfield target.
United are preparing to make a move worth €75 million for 27-year-old Italian midfielder Nicolo Barella from Inter Milan.
According to a report by Italian publication Inter Live, Nicolo Barella could be set to earn €10 million a year at Old Trafford if the deal goes through.
The Italian international has been vital for club and country in the last few years, helping to lift a number of trophies, including two Serie A titles and UEFA Euro 2020.
With 23 goals and 52 assists in 240 games for Inter Milan, Barella definitely makes his presence known on the pitch and is seen as a perfect option to line up with Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte.
However, with the 27-year-old making waves in on the National and international stage, United may have to fend off other potential suitors.
