United are finally starting to make waves in the transfer market.
Over the last few days the Red Devils have seen Dan Ashworth arrive at Old Trafford, a list of seven players to be culled released and steps closer to the first summer signing with Matthijs de Ligt.
It’s clear that Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s approach to rebuild the Red Devils, whilst making some massive changes now, is very focused on United’s long term success.
Ratcliffe has previously said that he believes the club will need up to three summer transfer windows to see a remarkable first squad who can continuously be in the running for titles, returning United to their former glory.
With this in mind, the INEOS owner wants ro focus on the club’s academy recruitment as much as the first squad, and with players like Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo being graduates it’s clear to see why.
Already this summer we’ve seen three new players join the academy in the form of Silva Mexes, James Overy and Camron Mpofu.
Now, United are on the verge of signing a fourth.
Manchester Evening News have reported that the Red Devils are getting close to signing the ‘electrifying’ winger, Samuel Lusale, from Crystal Palace.
Lusale has had a remarkable year, recently representing the Slovakian Under-17s team at the European Championships in May on the back of a great set of performances for Palace in the FA Youth Cup.
The 16-year-old is currently represented by Roc Nation, the talent agency founded by Jay-Z, with the agency having a glowing review of the young star.
On the Roc Nation website, it reads: “a quick, dynamic winger who is regarded as one of the most exciting attacking players in the UK at under-16 level.
It continues: “Comfortable playing off the right or left wing, his electrifying pace and direct running with the ball makes him a constant threat to the opposition defence. He is often the source of goals and assists for his team.”
With this, potentially the fourth academy signing in a month, United are clearly hoping to find more youngsters to follow the path being set by Garnacho and Mainoo.
