Manchester United could miss out on attacking target Mathys Tel as another Premier League side have beaten them to an agreement with Bayern Munich.
The Red Devils were one of several English clubs targeting Tel after he announced he wanted to leave Bayern by deadline day.
Tel’s suitors included United, Aston Villa, Arsenal and Spurs, with one of the four now agreeing terms with the German giants.
Following his recent impressive performance for Bayern who beat Slovan Bratislava 3-1 in the final Champions League group game, Tel was seen engaging with the Bayern fans, seemingly bidding them farewell.
This act further fuelled speculation that Tel would be leaving Bayern by next week in a bid to get more game time, which he’s been lacking with the Bundesliga squad.
However, this may be a step closer that United would like, with one of England’s top teams reaching an agreement with Tel’s current club.

Spurs agree deal for Mathys Tel
L’Equipe has reported that Spurs have now agreed a deal with Bayern to sign the 19-year-old for a sum of £50 million.
However, as reported earlier, Tel is yet to make a decision, waiting to see if United or Arsenal will formalise their interest with an off.
With Tel looking for more match experience, Spurs could fit the bill, with some significant injuries in their attacking ranks.
That said, United could still offer this too with both of the club’s current strikers underperforming to the point of Rasmus Hojlund being considered as “on trial” by Ruben Amorim.
The clock is now ticking for United, with deadline day being less than a week away if they want to snap up their new attacking target.
